PROZVET Project: results after the first year of activity

The PROZVET Project, carried on in the Russian regions of Karelia and Zabaikal achieved in its first year of action the following general results: 

  1. the competences of the local partners and experts on inclusive territorial development and territorial governance issues were strengthened
  2. the potential of the local tourism value chains was assessed
  3. the various local public and private actors were reached out and committed, in view to involve them in the two multi-stakeholder “Territorial Alliances for women social and economic inclusion.

In particular:  

1)   128 micro and small enterprises, 30 regional and local authorities, 143 NGOs and small initiative groups, 6 business support and business intermediary organisations, 6 universities and professional colleges, 57 museums, cultural and social institutions, Governors and the Deputy Heads of the regional authorities, the Departments of Employment at the Ministry of Social Protection, and the Ministries of Economic Development (in charge of tourism), the Ministries of Culture, the heads and deputy heads of all target districts and municipalities, the Chambers of Commerce, the tourism development agencies, the educational institutions (universities, colleges were mobilised and involved into the Action activities.

2)   the competitiveness, sustainability and inclusiveness of the tourism value chains were assessed, and the opportunities for business and job creation through the ILS LEDA RESCO participatory methodology, which involved 93 local actors, and using a special on-line methodology

3)   120 local actors were trained (with a total of 42 training hours and 7 webinars) on multi-actor territorial governance, women’s participation, and sustainable tourism value chain development, and sensitised for establishing the Territorial Alliance.

4)   The skills and experience on women’s economic inclusion in local development agenda were assessed in order to better understand which are the barriers that still hamper this inclusion in the target areas, and addressing the ongoing surveys on job opportunities and work-life balance services that will inform the content of the next to come activities in support of women’s employability.

5)   Assessment of Labour market and business opportunities and elaboration of recommendations, were started, according to the endorsed strategies and the market demands, and according to the preliminary RESCO finding, perspective niches for business start-ups and job creation were provided (such as social tourism; new information & communication technologies; green economy; digital marketing and advertisement; community and customers’ need management; traditional tourist services and qualifications; tourism and hospitality management related jobs; extra hotel offer.
