ILS LEDA Notebook - LED and Migration

This notebook focus on the importance of local economic development on supporting migrants initiatives aimed at either contributing to local development of the areas of origin, or facilitating their return.
The basic concept is migration an integral part of global and local development.

Migrants can contribute to the development of the areas of origin in many ways: through collective engagement in advocacy campaigns or in the improvement of local services and infrastructures.; in the realisation of projects; in the support other practitioners to implement projects on their behalf, in the direct engagement in development processes or by returning to their regions of origin.

The support could be either in capital or human resources or in facilitating relationships, and can be addressed to improve various aspects of the local economy, such as businesses, infrastructure, finance, regulatory framework, economic services, and labor market.
